¿Qué tal esa sinopsis? A mí me pareció de lo más estimulante, y aunque nunca antes había leído nada de la autora, despertó la más alta de mis expectativas (las cuales suelo evitar, para ahorrarme decepciones) pero debo decir que las superó. Sí, y con creces. Por lo que me pareció el libro perfecto para iniciar con nuestro especial de febrero de libros relacionados con el amor en el blog 🙂
Este libro nos cuenta la historia de Silvia, una mujer española, ingenua (que me desquició más de una vez), pero muy inteligente que se dedica a la ciencia y radica en París, no pudo resistirse a los encantos de Alain, un sujeto francés, casado, que por supuesto todo el tiempo le promete que dejará a su mujer para quedarse con ella.
Silvia no podía evitar querer creer en las promesas vacías de él, preguntándose porque le había entregado tanto poder sobre sí misma a un hombre que, evidentemente, no lo merecía.
Su amiga conoce su tormentosa historia y en un intento por ayudarla, le comparte una tarjeta para contactar a un terapeuta que trabaja de una manera muy particular, curando a través de la lectura. Silvia se resiste en un principio a la idea porque “no cree” en los terapeutas pero su método de trabajo le pareció atractivo porque una de las grandes pasiones de Silvia son los libros, por lo que se animó más por curiosidad que por pensar que realmente podía serle de utilidad.
Al acudir al lugar donde el terapeuta ofrece consulta, se da cuenta de que el sitio es una biblioteca hermosa con libros antiguos, es acogedor, bonito. El terapeuta es un hombre bastante singular, alegre, le habla con tanta familiaridad y confianza que siente que realmente lo conoce de otra parte, incluso su rostro le parece vagamente conocido pero no da con una respuesta… El terapeuta rompe el hielo fácilmente y la hace sentir cómoda, Silvia puede notar que es un hombre muy sensible, capaz de observar con nitidez más allá de la superficie, escudriñar los pequeños detalles dándoles un significado importante, profundo, intenso.
En fin, ella le cuenta brevemente su situación con Alain y el terapeuta parece entenderla rápidamente, él le presta u obsequia libros para que ella los lea entre una consulta y otra y de esta manera, Silvia da con las respuestas que necesita en ese momento. Original, ¿Cierto? 🙂

Más adelante, se da cuenta de que bueno, sí que lo conocía. Y él la conocía a ella más de lo que hubiera imaginado, porque Silvia ha sido acompañada por esta persona tan especial durante numerosas ocasiones, a lo largo de los años, comprendiéndola mejor que nadie…
Pienso que es una lectura con la cualquiera se puede identificar, aunque sea un poco, con Silvia, porque te hace pensar en esas veces en que has estado con una persona que en el fondo sabes que no te quiere, que no te conviene y que aún así decides permanecer ahí. Y que el verdadero problema no es la persona en cuestión, sino qué es lo que hay detrás de tu insistencia en mantener una relación así, de cómo llegar a tus propias conclusiones es un proceso largo y a veces doloroso, pero que cuando eres valiente y decides hacerles frente, te sientes liberado y puedes tomar decisiones más inteligentes y pertinentes, para elegir mantener una relación sana y feliz (con alguien más o contigo mismo).
En este blog es bien sabido que aquí amamos los libros que hablan de libros, y éste es increíble porque habla de curar a través de ellos. Seguramente alguna vez has leído uno que te hace pensar que llegó en el momento indicado, para decirte lo que necesitabas saber en ese momento. A veces leer es sanar ♥
