Sinopsis del libro
Luis Alfredo J.A. vive en un edificio verde, cubierto enteramente por enredadera. De alguna manera, es un edificio invisible o, al menos, demasiado sutil. Sin duda: se trata de un edificio elusivo al servicio postal. Luis Alfredo J.A. escribe cartas, una todos los días. Es un epistolero profesional. Luis Alfredo J.A. es también un esquizofrénico paranoide.
Las cartas que escribe Luis Alfredo J.A. están dirigidas a diversos destinatarios: a su hermana, a funcionarios de Telmex, al candidato Francisco Labastida o Lavastida, a la virgen de Guadalupe, a sus médicos, al señor Jesucristo o a Jesús-Cristo.
En sus epístolas, propone inventos genialmente descabellados, planes de salvación empresarial o política o espiritual. Son, desde luego cartas inesperadas, ejemplares de correo no deseado. Spam. (Sin embargo, en una sociedad gobernada por el deseo, quizá sea el spam una forma de resistencia, una estrategia de subversión.) Quizá solo son, en el inconsciente de telón de fondo de un esquizofrénico, tentativas de comunicación consigo mismo.
Iván Soto Camba compone este artefacto narrativo a partir de las cartas –reales- que Luis Alfredo J.A. escribiera desde su enfermedad y desde su departamento en un edificio invisible, o evasivo, como él mismo. Pistolar es un caleidoscopio, una indagación fragmentaria en el mosaico del yo: basta un ligero movimiento de muñeca y de repente todo cobra sentido.

El día de mañana 10 de octubre se celebra el día mundial de la salud mental y me pareció el pretexto perfecto para leer y escribir una reseña de este libro cuya sinopsis despertó mi curiosidad desde el primer momento, además de que fue el libro ganador del premio Mauricio Achar 2018.
Este libro es una especie de recopilación de cartas reales del antiguo inquilino del departamento en el que ahora vive el autor de este libro, quien se encontró en este lugar las cartas (bueno, él dice que las cartas lo encontraron a él) y pidió permiso a la hermana del autor de las cartas para publicarlas.
Luis Alfredo J.A. (que firma así en todas sus cartas) es un esquizofrénico paranoide que escribe una carta al día para destinatarios muy distintos entre sí: para su hermana, los funcionarios de Telmex, candidatos a la presidencia, la Virgen María, a Dios, los dueños de Zapaterías 3 hermanos y a su primer amor, en algunas de esas cartas también describe sus visiones, en ocasiones en plena redacción de repente tiene sus desvaríos y cambia de temas y destinatarios sin aparente razón.
Escribe esas cartas para canjear sus ideas, inventos y consejos por dinero o compensaciones en especie, profetizar, enamorar y pedir ayuda.
Incluso tiene una breve biografía escrita por Luis Alfredo J.A. el mismo autor de las cartas, en la que comparte sus primeras experiencias con las drogas a la edad temprana de 6 años, como se sentía y cómo en el fondo siempre le faltó amor desde la infancia.
Quizá mi sentimiento parece un poco fuera de contexto con el libro, pero no pude evitar sentir una extraña tristeza en mi pecho mientras lo leía. A veces me pasa que empatizo mucho con los protagonistas de los libros (o en este caso, el autor de estas cartas reales) y me pongo a pensar en la esperanza que siempre tuvo de que le contestaran, de que le reconocieran alguna de sus trilladas ideas, la desesperación de que Dios se apiadara de él y le “devolviera su cabeza sana como a tantos otros” como decía él.
Al final, lo que mitigó un poco este sentimiento fue la dedicatoria que le escribió Iván Soto al comienzo del libro:
“En memoria del verdadero Luis Alfredo J.A.”
¿Por qué? No lo sé exactamente. Quizá porque me deja la sensación de que sí se hizo algo de justicia, que por fin alguien lo vio y le reconoció, que aunque fuera más de un año después de su muerte, alguien volteó a ver al invisible.
Disfruté mucho este libro porque es como navegar por una mente diferente, es breve pero tiene lo suficiente. Es una lectura muy interesante y me parece grandioso que el autor tuviera la idea de publicarlas y compartirlas con todos nosotros 🙂
