Este pequeño libro es de las cosas más bonitas que he leído en los últimos tiempos, una novela breve y cálida que tiene la capacidad de envolverte en su nostalgia, melancolía y esperanza.
En esta historia conoceremos a Leo, un niño de 8 años cuya llegada al mundo fue esperada ansiosa y amorosamente por muchas personas, sobre todo por su abuelo materno, Angu, que le pidió muchas veces a la vida y a su hija que le concedieran la dicha de tener un nieto para jugar con él, amarlo y compartir todas esas historias que ha vivido y que tiene reservadas para él.
Pero la vida no siempre toma los caminos que nosotros que deseamos, y a tan solo un mes del primer cumpleaños de Leo, el abuelo Angu muere, dejando un hueco doloroso en el tejido familiar.
Sin embargo, la familia no permite que el recuerdo del abuelo Angu muera y Leo lo conoce a través de los recuerdos que su familia le comparte, sus hazañas, sus cualidades y el amor tan grande que el sentía por Leo.
Aunque Leo no se conforma con eso. Aunque todas esas anécdotas son muy especiales, él quiere más. Así que al soplar las velitas del pastel de su cumpleaños número 8, él desea con todo su corazón poder conocer al abuelo Angu.
A partir de entonces, Leo empieza a soñar por las noches que está en un lugar que parece ser el cielo, donde se encuentra entre nubes comestibles con un sabor delicioso, y en ese lugar tan especial, conoce a su abuelo.

Este libro tiene un toque de fantasía muy bonito que te invita a imaginar y te lleva al contexto, por lo mismo te hace reflexionar y preguntarte ¿Qué es lo que hay más allá? ¿A dónde vamos cuando morimos? ¿Realmente dejamos de existir?, esto me parece un punto relevante porque son interrogantes que todos nos hemos planteado alguna vez, Independientemente de cuáles sean nuestras creencias.
Para mí fue muy interesante e importante que la autora pusiera el acento en que quienes ya trascendieron nunca se van del todo y siguen viviendo a través de nosotros, de los recuerdos, de los objetos que les pertenecieron y las enseñanzas tan valiosas que nos dejaron, ellos encuentran así la manera de seguir estando entre nosotros.
Yo disfruté muchísimo esta novela porque la sentí como una historia reconfortante, cálida, sensible. Me recordó a alguien. Y estoy segura de que también despertará en ti el recuerdo de alguien a quién amas y que ya no está físicamente.
Me gustó mucho la capacidad de la autora para transmitir y describir sentimientos tan difíciles que experimentamos cuando vivimos una pérdida con mucha sensibilidad y definirlos de una manera tan acertada que llega a parecer que puede ver a través de ti, de lo que sientes, de cómo vives el dolor de la ausencia de alguien importante para ti. En pocas palabras, da la impresión de que te entiende♥
También necesito añadir que al leer la dedicatoria de éste libro descubrí, que hay dedicatorias que se pueden sentir…
