Uno de mis libros favoritos de todos los tiempos es “La maestría del amor” de Miguel Ruíz, así que este título me atrajo fuertemente porque quise conocer las letras de su hijo, Miguel Ruíz Jr. y ver si es un digno sucesor de su padre (está bien, estoy exagerando) y si sigue el mismo estilo de éste, ya saben, su línea de sabiduría tolteca. Debo reconocer que el resultado me dejó muy satisfecha y con ganas de leer más del autor (la verdad no me esperaba esto).
Lo escribe en colaboración con Heatherash Amara, una mujer que también fue aprendiz de su padre. Los autores son personas bastante diferentes entre sí y yo creo que es algo que favoreció al libro porque dichas diferencias complementaron su texto.
Este libro es una invitación a cuestionarte a ti mismo las ideas arraigadas que tenemos (y que quizá nunca nos hemos cuestionado) respecto al amor y al modo en que pensamos que “debe” de ser una relación, incluso nuestra pareja misma, creando en nuestra mente decenas de condiciones y expectativas para que esta persona sea digna de nuestro amor. Pero a veces se nos olvida que nadie viene a este mundo a cumplir con nuestras expectativas y que no podemos dar lo que no tenemos, por lo que para emprender este viaje, los autores nos desafían a conocernos a nosotros mismos y cuestionar estas expectativas con las que tendremos que trabajar y a veces incluso descartar.
Es un libro muy desafiante en muchos aspectos porque te obliga a confrontarte a ti mismo, a preguntarte si lo que piensas que quieres es por tu convicción o porque te dijeron que así deben de ser las cosas, te anima a mirar en tu interior para explorar tus propias respuestas, tus verdaderos deseos porque afirma que solamente así serás verdaderamente feliz.
Todos los capítulos se van enlazando de una forma congruente y armoniosa, todo lo que aprendes del primer capítulo te servirá para reforzar el siguiente. Todos estos vienen complementados con experiencias de los autores, testimonios de sus estudiantes y ejercicios muy prácticos para que empieces a trabajar con lo aprendido a través de las lecciones, de forma individual o en pareja.
Me pareció un libro muy completo, porque abarca desde el autoconocimiento y el análisis de tus propios conceptos e ideas hasta la sexualidad, la alegría en la pareja, la libertad y de cómo si una relación ya no te hace feliz, siempre es posible concluirla con amor incondicional.
Los autores constantemente nos advierten que algunos ejercicios y prácticas no son fáciles de seguir porque estamos muy acostumbrados a un modo de vivir diferente, condicionado, como el modo de comunicar nuestras ideas, la forma en la que afrontamos las dificultades y las diferencias y muchas otras cuestiones que te costaran unas más que otras, pero los escritores te animan a que sigas intentándolo y no seas tan duro contigo mismo si las cosas no fluyen tan pronto como quisieras, ya que una relación sana y feliz es un camino que sembramos, construimos, cuidamos y regamos todos los días y muchas veces las discusiones y diferencias que tenemos pueden reforzar nuestra relación si las aprendemos a manejar y hacernos responsables de lo que nos corresponde. Yo ya lo estoy comprobando, y puedo decir que vale la pena el intento, porque aunque de manera solitaria podemos crecer en muchos aspectos, hay puntos de nosotros que solo pueden florecer en compañía, y si elegimos estar con alguien que amamos y crecer juntos, un poco de orientación e interés en mejorar nunca está de más.
Muchas veces no se trata del “qué”, sino del “cómo” 🙂
