Con este libro concluimos nuestro especial de autores mexicanos que me entusiasma tanto ♥.

El año pasado publiqué la primera parte de la trilogía, y fue un libro del que aprendí y me inspiró tanto, que no pude resistirme a leer la segunda parte y compartirla para cerrar este mes.

Este libro está compuesto por 50 biografías de mujeres mexicanas que han destacado en diferentes áreas: escritoras, gobernadoras, periodistas, pintoras, cantantes, actrices, deportistas de los juegos olímpicos, científicas, activistas, historiadoras, directoras de cine, empresarias y más… Pero todas tienen en común que lucharon por sus convicciones, pusieron el nombre de México en alto y demostraron que las mujeres pueden brillar y destacar en lo que sea que se propongan si son perseverantes y creen en su propio sueño.

En este segundo tomo pude notar que identificaba menos mujeres que en el primero. Pero no por ello son menos importantes. Al contrario. Una de las maravillas de los libros como éste es que visibilizan y dan a conocer mujeres destacadas e injustamente borradas de la historia.

Al igual que el primer tomo, este libro tiene el encanto de estar narrado en primera persona. Por lo que la mujer de la que estamos leyendo te está contando su propia historia y te da algún detalle de su contexto histórico para que sientas que estás ahí con ella tomando el té, o viajando, o en medio de una guerra esquivando balas haciéndola de periodista y viviendo muchas aventuras. Yo me quedaba con las ganas de tomar ese chocolate caliente que algunas ilustres mexicanas me invitaban.

Incluso leí sobre mujeres que aunque no nacieron en este país, son tan mexicanas como nosotras. ¿Quién no ha escuchado la famosa frase de “los mexicanos nacemos donde nos da la gana”? Claro, de la mismísima Chavela Vargas, que también te cuenta su historia en este libro.

Me emocionan mucho los libros de este autor porque son muy estimulantes, inspiradores, y te inyectan una curiosidad que hacen que cuando terminas de leer quieras saber más y cuando menos te das cuenta ya estás investigando en internet. Además aprendí mucho de historia, de cultura general y pienso que son perfectos para que las niñas empiecen a conocer más del país y de las mujeres que han sido borradas de sus libros de historia pero a las que debemos tantas libertades y derechos de los que ahora todas podemos gozar.

Mientras leía, pude identificar que sentía una punzada de impotencia y frustración por las injusticias que tuvieron que atravesar estos personajes, por su condición de mujeres. Como si su voz mereciera resonar menos, como si no valiera la pena molestarse en escucharlas. Pero ellas fueron tan valientes y resilientes que si no les dejaban publicar sus artículos periodísticos o las investigaban, ellas usaban nombres falsos, o se las arreglaban de las maneras más ingeniosas y astutas para hacerse escuchar y no dejarse intimidar por la presión y el silencio a los que querían someterlas.

Considero que todas las niñas deberían de tener disponible este libro en la biblioteca de su escuela, porque aunque para algunos la historia les resulta aburrida, este libro no lo es. Y eso que todavía no he hablado de lo hermosas que son las ilustraciones y de que cada detalle del libro está muy cuidado para volverlo visualmente muy atractivo ♥
